  • LOCATION. Country located in the southeast of Europe, in the northern part of the Balkan Peninsula, inside the Danube river basin opening on the Black Sea.
  • SURFACE. 238,391 sq. km (4.8% of Europe), 11th place in Europe, and 79th in the world.
  • ADMINISTRATION OF THE COUNTRY: 40 administrative divisions and Bucharest.
  • CLIMATE. Because of its position on the southeastern portion of the European continent, Romania has a climate that is transitional between temperate and continental.
