Targu Mures, Mures County
The town preserves as old buildings: the Fortress (1602-1653), a bricks building with precinct walls and towers. A Reformat Church, a former Franciscan church (the 15th century) with a chapel on the north side built by Michael the Brave, painted in the traditon of this religious cult, is to be found inside. On the southern portal, a painting revealing Christ flagelation can also be seen. The Jesuits’ Monastery (1725-1749), in Baroc style; Tholdalagi House (1759-1762) with Rococo elements, decorated with sculptures by A. Schuchbauer; Teleki House (1799-1803), in Baroc style with neoclassic influences.
Timisoara, Tmis County
Huniad Family Castle was, in fact, rebuilt during Magyar King Carol Robert of Anjou reign (1308-1342), extended in 1441 by Iancu of Hunedoara, and seriously restored in 1856; today it is Banat Museum headquarters. The Roman Catholic Church in Barco style (1736-1773) was built by the Viennese Em. Fischer von Erlach. The former Franciscan Monastery, an 18th century building. The Prefecture (1754) and the Old City Hall (1731 – 1734) palaces, the Serbian Church (1754) with paintings by Constantin Daniel. The town also preserves many edifices revealing the 19th-century Eclecticism and the 1900 style.
