Brasov city is situated at the Carpathian Mountains' foot, in a landscape of rare beauty, at only 10 km from Poiana Brasov and 167 km from Bucharest. The major attraction in city is the Hall Square, located in the old center, surrounded by remnants of the old fortress' walls. On the Square, we can also find the Black Church, one of the most important historical and art monuments of the country, the largest religious edifice between Vienna and Istanbul. Also in this area there is the Republic Street, one of the main commercial centers of the city. Among other attraction points of Brasov, we also have to mentioned: The First Romanian School, the Sforii Street – the narrowest street in South East Europe, Weavers' Bastion – used in the past as a shield for protection and shelter for the city guilds, the cable car, with which the tourists can climbe to the Tampa Mountain and enjoy the best view of the whole region.
Brasov is also a perfect blend of attractions and many recreational and entertainment possibilities: traditional and modern restaurants, bars, clubs and discos, cinema, theater, opera, concert halls, etc.
